The annual inflation rate in Vietnam declined to 0.19 percent in December of 2020, the least since January 2016, from 1.48 percent in the previous month. Prices rose softer mostly for food & catering services (2.68 percent vs 6.63 percent in November), housing & construction materials (0.19 percent vs 0.64 percent), education (3.80 percent vs 3.81 percent), and textiles, footwear, hat (0.37 percent vs 0.55 percent). Meanwhile, transport prices continued to drop (-11.68 percent vs -13.27 percent), due to the decrease in electricity and water prices.
